Zou at The G

Zou makes a new friend at a popular pull-out.

Even strangers can share.  Or, maybe once you share a stick, you're not strangers anymore!

After the lab left, it was just down to Zouey...

But she's good at self-entertaining, so...

 Across the bridge...

Is the water prettier on this side of the river?  Is Zouey prettier?  ;)

Zouey asks us "What's that?  And who are they?  And what are they doing out there?"

"Well, they're about to go for a little ride, ZoueyGirl..."

 Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

"Hmmm, I want to do that too!"

Dad throws in a rock - splash!

Zouey does the Brown Bear Snorkle - that rock is in here somewhere, and I'm going to get it!  Even if it means drowning...!!

Enough.  Time to go back...

Down time...

After all that fun, it's time to recharge batteries...

This one definitely has a "Do Not Disturb" sign out...!

 ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ...

It can be hard to get comfortable...

To find the perfect position...

And then?  After all that work?  You fall off?!!  (no, but it does look that way, doesn't it?!  ;)

SC to TR to WK1

Zou and I found a new route to visit a certain body of water and were able to make a loop drive out of it.

Somebody we stopped to say hello to enroute.

 The road along the SC.

 Zou IN the SC!

 My little otter pup.

Just shake it off, little dog, just shake it off!

Nuthin' cuter than than the last part of the shake - the butt shake.

 Continuing on...

A quick detour by this other lake...

 ooo, Zou's favorite:  a C-O-W!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmmm, not the best to be behind...!

 Pretty views around TR.

 TR.

The road back to WK1 (the quick way).

Due to roadwork, there was a necessary detour - J's C Rd.

Zou zooming along the BP trail

Always a favorite thing of mine:  a new trail to explore in a beautiful place!  The weather was about perfect - around 60 and cloudy.  And I had my bestest hiking partner along for her first real off-leash trail experience!
Woo-hoo!  Here we go!

Gorgeous fir- and fern-filled aspen glade.

 And she's off!  Skirts a'flyin'!

Zou takes full advantage of her leashlessness!  B'bye Mom!!!!!!!!!!

Well, wait.  Just checking, making sure you're still there...

Still there?  Geez, you sure are slow, Mom!!!!!!!!!!!!

Zou brown looks good against that Colorado green, don't you think?

 Lovely larkspur

...and such a pretty color.

We made it to one of the ponds.  I decided to tie Zou up while I took a few photos.  The water in the pond looked a little gunky...  Plus, it was late in the day and I didn't want her getting all muddy and wet.

Love this scene.  Nice corn lilies.
(and nice thunder, and it's starting to rain a little...it's all good!!!)

 What a wonderful forest.

How appropriate - my little girl, who is totally taken with cows, sits next to a cow parsnip.

The way back...
