We were all very happy staying at this RV park. Not only was it a nice place to stay and well-kept, but like all our other favorite campgrounds, it was inhabited by the nicest of people! And some very nice dogs as well...! Here you will meet one of Zou's best friends, Claire.
Zou and Claire played so well together. It was such a treat for all of us to have such a good match-up! Claire is a bit heftier than Zou (by about 25 lbs), but she seemed pretty careful not to jump on Zou too much and...
was so sweet to actually lay down a lot so our little lightweight could play without any squishing danger.
And Claire is a very lucky dog to have such good parents, who not only rescued her during her babyhood but continue to be sure she gets the best of care and are doing their best to raise her right. Here, Daddy (Larry) provides a much-needed drink of cool, refreshing water, and Zou is not too shy to share (and Claire, very generous, not claiming ownership of her water or her dad!).
Claire and her folks, Larry and Kathy. Great people, who we would love to have as neighbors, and a doggy that Zou would certainly vouch for (and play with daily if she lived next to!!!)!
Something that I'm learning is a hallmark of the best campgrounds - group feedings!!! Whether they are potlucks, donuts & coffee, happy hour, or full-on meals (like this one - a complimentary breakfast for an early Father's Day celebration), these are fun, yummy, great ways of letting campers socialize and serve to create a sort of sense of community - something that I think is especially appreciated by those who are basically living in their RVs (full-time or part-time like us).
And meet Chuck, Gracie (lap), and Sassy. I'm sure Gracie is very sweet too, but Sassy struck me as having a very deep, loving soul. Having such wonderful traveling/life companions is almost always a good reflection on their owners as well, if you ask me!
ZG, after dark.
